		<description><![CDATA[This joint project from UNC and Chilean students documented life on a remote island off the coast of Chile.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.chiloestories.org"><img class="picleft" src="http://www.amilewide.com/portfolio/wp-content/themes/mimbo2.2/images/chiloe.jpg" alt="Madison County Project" /></a><strong>About:</strong> <a href="http://www.chiloestories.org">Chiloe Stories</a> was a collaboration between student from UNC and the University of the Andes  to create an extensive project documenting life on the isolated island of Chiloe. My primary assignment was to teach a dozen Chilean students audio and video skills as well as help them develop their stories. I also helped develop the initial site design as well as created written content for an interactive module on the island&#8217;s famous wooden churches.</p>

We shot live performance video for the majority of the bands and offered audio selections for each.

What began as a purely print product has transformed into a showcase of our best multimedia. We have upped the ante for the project each year and have helped our site reach a non-newspaper audience.</p>
<p><strong>Specs:</strong> Videos were shot in HDV and edited in Final Cut Pro. The interface was built in Flash CS3 and Actionscript 2 with assets loaded dynamically with XML. Videos were presented with a full-screen display option.</p>

After serving 18 years in prison (more than half his adult life), Dail is exonerated of the crime through DNA evidence. Dail, Interrupted uses documentary video and a unique &#8220;online DVD&#8221; format to tell the story of Dail&#8217;s conviction, exoneration, and his new life as he attempts to readjust to the outside world and reconnect to family.</p>
<p><strong>Specs:</strong> The project was built in Flash CS3 and Actionscript 2. The videos were edited in Final Cut Pro.</p>
